First thing I noticed is how flimsy the door was. Even the support brackets appear too thin to hold the weight. Hower, it broke a few months after it was installed. Apparently due to incorrect installation. Better design and preparation at the factory would have avoided this, and better explanation of installation proceedures. I now have a van stuck in my garage that I can't get out because I cannot open the door. The installer is not accepting any responsibility.
Hi Tony, I am sorry that this has not gone well for you, but as discussed, the failure is clearly an install issue.
Your installer has placed the Track stop in the wrong location, but the most critical error was not following the instructions to open the entrance at the top of the guide to give a wider, smoother lead in. This has caused the nylofelt edges to wear, then catch and tear from door.
These require a heavy duty pnumatic stapler to repair, so an in-field solution in Putaruru is not possible, but as advised I think you could effect a temporary repair with rivets or button screws so the door could be operational once the guides are correctly modified.
